Position Overview:
Responsible for the ongoing operations of our retail store and working in tandem with marketing to market our brand in the community. Directly manages our store daily, and expanding the retail and merchandising strategy of our business. This is both a strategic and hands on position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for overseeing all duties from buying, sales, operations, inventory management, and store based accounting functions.
- Will focus on the execution of our retail business plan, monitoring retail and all merchandising performance.
- Develop and execute a profitable customer-focused merchandise and retail strategy while enhancing the customer experience.
- Purchase merchandise by making proper selections, and negotiating most favorable costs, and other terms of purchase- in order to be more than competitively priced.
- Monitor product sales, inventory turns, markdowns and all other costs to maximize sales and profitability of the team.
- Maintain positive business partnerships with vendors, and continuously search for new sources of supply.
- Direct merchandise presentation, space allotment and point of purchase information for all retail operations.
- Maintain qualified retail staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training staff.
- Keep abreast of latest retail, merchandising and licensing innovations and concepts to maximize performance.
- Develop processes and reports for all merchandise and retail functions – i.e. open to buy, inventory turns, loss prevention, purchasing and distribution.
- Work cross-functionally with all organizational teams to achieve financial goals.
- Make recommendations on the purchases of new systems and major capital expenditures for retail operations.
- Prepare department budget and operate under budgetary guidelines.
- Assist with promotional events and merchandise.
- Effectively schedule and direct the workload of the retail staff, including: work schedules, posting the schedules weekly for the staff and assure staff performs tasks at an acceptable level.

Physical Demands & Working Environment:
- Required to work long hours standing and walking around.
- Sitting, standing, walking, reaching with arms and hands, climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, or crouching are all part of this position.
- Must be able to handle weather related elements such as rain and heat.
Experience Required To Be Considered:
- Candidate must have at least five years' experience minimum working in a retail store in a baseball environment as a manager or and assistant manager.
- Candidate must have experience using Retail Pro and Shopify.
- Candidate must have established relationships with retail vendors for sports venues.
- Candidate must have strong working knowledge of retail systems and inventory management system
- Candidate must be able to prove working knowledge of open to buy ordering and understanding of baseball related retail trends.
- Candidate must have specific experience managing staff, including hiring, training and scheduling.
