Opportunity: 
The Arizona Major Events Host Committee (AMEHC) is responsible for planning and executing major and impactful events for Arizona.  The AMEHC resume includes events like the NFL Super Bowl in 2023, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four in 2024, and the upcoming 2026 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four. The guiding principles of the AMEHC create a framework for achieving success and maximizing the positive impacts on Arizona communities:
  1. Showcase Arizona on a Global Platform
  2. Fuel economic engine for the Region
  3. Leave a positive legacy for the State             
The AMEHC works in partnership with local and national stakeholders to create an outstanding and positive experience for event attendees, Arizona residents, local businesses, the hospitality community, media, visitors to Arizona, local and national sponsors, as well as participating teams, players/participants and team personnel.  We are seeking individuals who are committed to pursuing excellence and being part of creating memorable experiences and philanthropic and economic impact.
 
Role:
This position will assist with leading and managing all AMEHC sales and fundraising efforts for major events in Arizona, creating long-term partnerships for the AMEHC, successfully achieving or exceeding the fundraising goals, and leaving a positive legacy for the state.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive development and execution of sales and activation plan to achieve revenue and expense targets.
    • Prepare all sponsorship and hospitality proposals & presentations. 
    • Create & manage compelling asset list and rate card to achieve revenue and expense targets.  
    • Develop creative & customized sales packages that drive ongoing and renewable partnerships.
    • Manage ticket inventory, seat assignments, and distribution of event tickets and other hospitality assets. 
  • Collaborate with Committee staff across disciplines to successfully achieve the following: 
    • Create customized packages that effectively combine marketing, promotions, events, community programs, digital and traditional media, and hospitality assets.
    • Create cross-disciplinary assets, e.g., VIK media, CEO Forum, Business Connect Program, sustainability etc.
    • Manage and deliver fully integrated partnerships. 
  • Maintain database of partners and prospects with contact information, contact history, deal points, etc.
    • Provide weekly metrics and dashboard on sponsorship business, e.g. revenue & expense projections. 
    • Create a detailed single database for tracking all revenue, assets, deliverables, reporting elements, etc. 
  • Develop, manage, and maintain relationships with a multitude of Arizona businesses, Native American Communities, tourism entities, as well as local media partners, national broadcast partners, and national partners.
  • Work closely with NCAA team (or other governing body) on deals, assets, contracts, and protected categories.
  • Contribute to a sales and service culture agenda to help the organization achieve financial success.
  • Proactively provide new sales concepts or strategies that will continue the growth of the events and the Committee.
  • Prepare and deliver thorough post-event recap reports to leadership and Partners.
  • Availability to work events, nights and weekends, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications/Competencies:
  • Preferred Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience around sponsorship/partnership sales or other related sports sales experience. 
  • Proven track record of leading, planning, and executing sales or fundraising plans. 
  • Demonstrates understanding of the Arizona business and sales landscape to develop plans for maximum success.
  • Strong relationship, budget, and project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and challenges in a highly dynamic, fast-paced and fluid environment, while remaining positive, productive, and professional.
  • Demonstrates ability to be proactive, solution-oriented, and respond quickly and succinctly to audibles.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with staff across the Committee departments to best accomplish the goals of the Committee.
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Works with a sense of urgency and diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Team player and positive mojo – ability to work well with all internal and external stakeholders.
