Basic Function: 
The Fan Engagement Manager will be responsible for shaping and executing fan engagement priorities including fan groups, fan council, multi-cultural markets, and future fan growth segments (i.e. youth and female fans).  The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of sports marketing and fan engagement best practices. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to strengthen our fan community, increase fan loyalty, and drive revenue through cross functional marketing related tactics. 

Job Function (Duties & Responsibilities):
  • Develop and execute a fan engagement strategy, with a focus on general market, multi-cultural, youth, and female segments. 
  • Manage the Houston Texans Fan Council.
  • Act as primary liaison with Houston Texans fan groups including Batlle Red Ladies, Toros Kids Club, Traveling Texans, Somos Texans, regional fan groups (San Antonio, Rio Grande Valley, Austin, and Mexico).
  • Develop and cultivate key relationships with local contacts to extend the brand. Ex. local event organizers, other local sports fan engagement teams, local women’s groups, and youth groups. 
  • Partner with internal teams to create and execute a fan communication strategy.
  • Work with corporate sponsorship team to build out Houston Texans Local Bar Program.
  • Adhere to fan engagement budget. 
  • Perform various other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by Sr. Fan Development Manager.
 
Subject to reasonable accommodations, position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and not in a telecommuting manner.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple diverse tasks with multiple deadlines in a high-energy environment.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure and within deadlines.  
  • Display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
  • Ability and internal desire to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications.
 
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of full-time experience in marketing or related field. 
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) is required.
