Internship Objective: The Allen Americans are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and talented individual to serve as the Biscuit the Bulldog Mascot Seasonal Intern during the 2025-2026 season. The ideal candidate would have previous experience performing as a mascot, possess excellent non-verbal communication skills, athletically and physically fit, and have a creative and humorous personality. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the Allen Americans at various events across the DFW area including (but not limited to) home games at CUTX Event Center, special events, watch parties, corporate partner appearances, festivals, school shows, etc. 
  • Help to market and promote the Biscuit the Bulldog appearances. 
  • Contact schools, churches, nursing homes, and day care centers to schedule Biscuit the Bulldog programs and appearances.. 
  • Assist in keeping the mascot on the game schedule including in-game seat visits, intermission performances, stay in communication with A/V control, assist with pre-game tasks, community appearances, and other items throughout the season that is requested. 
  • Assist with social media accounts and trending videos. Strong understanding of social media platforms and engagement.
  • Will serve as a handler/assistant during events in the community. 
  • Carry props or other supplies during the game for the mascot.
  • Will be in charge of making sure the mascot has all his supplies for the upcoming games or appearances such as: sharpies, photos, shirts, stickers, etc. 
  • Help to create and develop new revenue sources for the Biscuit the Bulldog program. 
  • Work and coordinate with the Game Ops team and Front Office staff. 

Requirements:
  • Must reside locally. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours on weekends and evenings, and potential holidays.
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. 
  • Required to travel frequently, within the DFW area with own vehicle transportation. 
  • Previous mascot handler experiences preferred. 
  • Ability to perform at times in the mascot costume and will need previous mascot performing experience preferred. 
  • Ability to excite, engage and entertain a crowd.
  • Available to attend all 36 Allen Americans home games at CUTX Eventer Center in Allen, Texas.   
  • Indoor and outdoor work with some exposure to adverse conditions 
  • Assist and maintain mascot booking calendar.

  • Mature, outgoing disposition when engaging fans, guests, and supporters. 
  • Effective problem solvers and can operate confidently without regular, direct supervision.

  • Passionate about the Allen Americans, hockey, and willing to continue learning and support the organization’s mission, values, and goals. 
  • Confident and concise speaking skills and ability to speak loudly over crowd noise.
  • Excellent communication, collaborative, and customer service skills. 

Pay: Non-paid.

About the Organization: 
The Allen Americans Professional Hockey Club is the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Utah Hockey Club. Championship Hockey is the backbone of the Americans’ franchise since being founded in 2009, with the team having captured four consecutive league championships from 2013 through 2016. The club plays all its home games at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. Myles Jack purchased the team in October 2023 and became the first black majority owner of any franchise in the ECHL history.
