Location: OrthoVirginia Training Center at Commanders Park, Ashburn, VA 
 
Job Summary:  
The Washington Commanders are currently seeking a talented, highly motivated creative with a passion for photography. This role will assist the Content and Creative team with archiving, editing, and capturing images. We are looking for a dynamic photographer with a strong sense of storytelling to document and elevate our brand through high-quality event and marketing photography. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in live settings—capturing authentic moments at community gatherings, corporate events, and branded experiences. You’ll work closely with marketing and events teams to ensure the visual identity of our brand is consistently and compellingly represented.  
 
 Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Assist in photography administration for the daily operations of the Washington Commanders 
  • Assist with home game photography and coverage of the gameday experience, as assigned 
  • Photograph marketing, community, ticketing, concert, sponsorship and other events as assigned 
  • Tagging, editing and uploading images to organizations digital archive (Photoshelter) 
  • Assist with the execution of internal and external photo requests 

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • 1-3 years of experience in photographing high-speed action in indoor and outdoor events 
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual arts, production, or equivalent education 
  • Ability to creating image-based storytelling  
  • Knowledge of Sports, Portrait, Event, and Studio Photography 
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom) 
  • Proficiency in Photo Mechanic and Libris Photo Shelter (Data Asset Management/ Archiving systems) 
  • Knowledge of various camera operating systems 
  • Unique creative eye for shooting game and event photography, as well as for capturing emotion 
  • Ability to not only shoot, but also think through the lens of a creative storyteller  
  • Desire to create new and interesting digital photo content that generates an emotional connection with fans 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Knowledge of metadata and how it affects the user experience when searching for an asset 
  • Knowledge of digital photography, lighting, composition, and color quality 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment and in media work  
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and organization skills required 
  • Ability to lift items more than 30 pounds 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays 
Working Conditions: 
  • Indoors – Events, Games, etc 
  • Outdoors – Events, Games, etc 
  • Weekends – Events, travel to and from events  
  • Carrying multiple cameras and lenses at a time 
  • Spending long periods of time crouched over to shoot and then also sitting at a computer to edit `
