JOB SUMMARY: The Kane County Cougars are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Seasonal Press Box Staff for the upcoming baseball season. This team plays a vital role in the execution of game day operations by ensuring accurate and timely data entry, scorekeeping, and visual presentation of game-related information. This is a great opportunity for those interested in sports operations, statistics, or broadcast production.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Maintain official game score using scoring software or traditional methods, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Input and track in-game statistics for players and teams using approved software.
- Operate and monitor TrackMan system to collect player performance data throughout games.
- Operate the in-stadium scoreboard, updating line scores, player information, and announcements as needed.
- Use PitchMan system to record pitch types, velocities, and outcomes in real-time.
- Perform quality checks on data and assist in post-game reporting
- Collaborate with official scorers, announcers, and other game day staff for seamless game presentation.
- Support other press box and game day functions as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in scorekeeping, stats entry, or game operations preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with baseball rules, scoring, and terminology is highly preferred.
- Comfortable with technology and learning new software (TrackMan, Daktronics, etc.).
- Must be able to work in both indoor and press box environments.
- Ability to sit for extended periods during games.
