TITLE: Skill Development Professional
DEPARTMENT: Hockey Operations
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Executive Director Hockey Operations
BASED AT: UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex
 
SUMMARY:
The Skill Development Professional is responsible for developing and managing all hockey skill related programming in the facility in support of the organization’s goals of providing exemplary training and development opportunities for player of all ages.

UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex - Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Strategize, design & implement an innovative progression plan/programming for all skill development activities at the facility to drive revenue
  • Lead instructor for all facility related skill development programming, including camps, clinics & team training sessions utilizing the ice surfaces and skill development areas within the facility
  • Promote all UPMC skill development programming, help/lead multiple summer camps, Excel Academy and run afternoon/night skill sessions on ice
  • Respond to all inquiries with in 24hrs of receiving emails or phone calls
  • Show up for all scheduled sessions, be positive, show passion and have fun
  • Maintain strong relationship with our customers 

DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Penguins Elite - Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coaching one (1) team. (Birth years to be determined.)
  • Other Duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director Hockey Operations

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Competitive and Hard Worker
  • Proven track record of managing profitable skill development programming 
  • Previous playing experience at the professional or collegiate levels 
  • Ability to work with male and female players of all ages and abilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead in a team environment
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Professional mindset with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Shares development first philosophy 
  • Valid USA Hockey Coaching Certification
